  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2-inch celery stalk, chopped
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp green chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 5 cups vegetable stock
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp white pepper powder
  • 3 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 stalk green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chilli oil

Spicy Chinese Hot and Sour Soup “

1) Take a deep pan and heat the oil in it.
2) Add chopped celery, garlic, ginger, and onion and saute for one minute
3) Add chopped bamboo shoots and saute.
4) Add carrot, bean sprouts, French beans, cabbage, and stir.
5) Add mushrooms, green chilli sauce, soy sauce, and vegetable stock one by one and keep on stirring.
6) Mix well and add sugar, salt, and green capsicum.
7) Add white pepper powder, cornstarch/corn flour, little water, and mix.
8) Cook until the soup gets a slightly thick consistency.
9) Lastly, stir in vinegar.
10) Pour in soup bowls and serve piping hot garnished with a drizzle of chilli oil and spring onion greens.
