simple Ayurvedic remedies for digestion

Mix 1 teaspoon of Ghee, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 5/4 cup of warm water and drink immediately. Ghee lubricates intestinal walls, aiding bowel movements.

Its butyrate acid reduces inflammation. Salt removes germs naturally. Try a ripe banana with a hot drink after dinner. Banana starch bulks your stool.

Warm liquid promotes bowel motions. Fiber is best. Include soaking figs, Anjeer, bael fruit, Triphala, and china grass. These fiber-rich, nutrient-rich foods prevent constipation.

Deshpande suggests eating a ripe banana and sipping hot milk or water two hours after dinner. A tablespoon of castor oil—a stimulant laxative—taken at bedtime may also help.

Avoid castor oil if pregnant. Castor oil should not be used by children under 12 or those over 60 without medical advice.

  • Season it with fresh ginger, hing (asafoetida), and a sprinkle of rock salt.
  • Mint herbal teas, for example, can help with flatulence.
  • Try black, green, and fennel teas, as well as rosemary.
  • Avoid heavier variants that contain sugar and milk.

According to Dr. Lineesha, anything consumed with warm water helps reduce bloating.

Remedy for Acidity

Acid reflux and heartburn are made worse by Pitta. Holy basil, cloves, and fennel soothe acid reactions. These spices produce saliva that helps with digestion. It is one Ayurvedic treatment for acidity and digestion.

Pick snacks and drinks that are alkaline and cooling. Examples include coconut flesh, rice, and chutneys. Astringent and bitter foods balance Pitta.

Try pomegranate, honeydew, lettuce, mangoes, watermelon, and lettuce. Consume grains, split mung dals, and green leafy vegetables.

The digestive tract becomes irritated by oily, acidic, and spicy foods. Vinegar, tomatoes, citrus fruits, onions, garlic, and young peppers heighten Pitta.

The saliva aids in reducing gastric acidity.

According to Ayurveda, buttermilk aids in digestion and soothes the stomach.
